چکیده

Abstract Polyolefin fiber is a new type of that was used in concrete to improve some the poor properties including; tensile strength, ductility, and fracture energy. In this research, contribution improving hardened examined by adding polyolefin fibers mix with different content. The polypropylene were added as ratio 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, 1.5, 2% volume. Destructive non-destructive tests carried out: slump, compression, splitting, bending, Schmidt Hammer, ultrasonic pulse velocity tests. results showed that, content increases, workability reduces dramatically. experimental findings demonstrate strength ductility improved small improvement overall compressive strength. show increased gradually increase up 1.5%, then, starts decrease. However, increases continuously increasing. A good relationship obtained between destructive nondestructive

Improving Non-Destructive Concrete Strength Tests Using Support Vector Machines

Non-destructive testing (NDT) methods are important alternatives when destructive tests are not feasible to examine the in situ concrete properties without damaging the structure. The rebound hammer test and the ultrasonic pulse velocity test are two popular NDT methods to examine the properties of concrete. The rebound of the hammer depends on the hardness of the test specimen and ultrasonic p...

Evaluation of Fire-Damaged Concrete: An Experimental Analysis based on Destructive and Nondestructive Methods

Fire damage to concrete causes contact-type defects that degrade its durability through impaired mechanical properties. Various nondestructive tests are used to evaluate defects induced by fire damage. Recently, nonlinear ultrasonic methods such as the nonlinear resonance vibration method and nonlinear modulation method have been introduced. These nonlinear methods are more sensitive to fire-in...

Investigating the Properties of Asphalt Concrete Containing Glass Fibers and Nanoclay

The performance of asphaltic pavements during their service life is highly dependent on the mechanical properties of the asphaltic layers. Therefore, in order to extend their service life, scientists and engineers are constantly trying to improve the mechanical properties of the asphaltic mixtures. One common method of improving the performance of asphaltic mixtures is using different types of ...

Neuro-fuzzy application for concrete strength prediction using combined non-destructive tests

The application of the neuro-fuzzy inference system to predict the compressive strength of concrete is presented in this study. The adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is introduced for training and testing the data sets consisting of various parameters. To investigate the influence of various parameters which affect the compressive strength, 1551 data pairs are collected from the tec...

Functionalization, Compatibilization and Properties of Polyolefin Composites with Natural Fibers

The article is focused on analyzing the effect of functionalization and reactive processing on the morphological, thermal, rheological and mechanical properties of composites of isotactic polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate) (EVA), with cellulose fibers, hemp or oat as natural fillers. Both polymers and fibers were modified with bi-functional monomers (glycidyl met...
